Introduction

Regarding decision-making in economic policy, we consider the political influences and capture the economic effects of policies, analyzing them both theoretically and empirically. From this analysis, we aim to present the economic implications of policies, taking into account their political feasibility, on issues such as rising budget deficits, the approach to fiscal consolidation and tax reform, which have recently been issues in advanced countries. Particularly recently, in our country, the effectiveness of fiscal policy and the relationship between the scale of fiscal deficits, tax refrm, and political processes (such as the electoral system and bureaucratic structures) are being questioned. Therefore, we feel the necessity of research focusing on these issues and are engaged in studies targeting them.
