Introduction

I am examining German-speaking literature and thought from the perspective of media history. Media is the historical a priori that makes literature and thought possible in the first place. The history from printing technology through analog media to digital media has fundamentally transformed the nature of time and space, as well as the nature of memory. I am attempting to observe and describe how language expression and thought have been influenced by this transformation.
