Managing Decline

「日本の産業史のなかでも特に、石炭産業の例のように、産業が衰退した地域において「衰退をどうマネジメントするか」を研究。ゼミでは地域社会の維持のためにできることを考え、限界集落での活動や食や農業に関するプロジェクトを長年続けています。」
“With the field called the history of Japanese industry, I focus on studying how to manage decline in regions where an industry has declined, such as in the case of the coal industry. In my seminars, we think about how to sustain local communities, and for many years, have been conducting activities at villages in hilly and mountainous regions facing population decrease and aging.”
