「残された文書群等から、明治時代の社会福祉制度や農村社会の仕組みを研究することで、貧困層への冷たい視線、救済の実態、当時の人々の「生きづらさ」が見えてきました。このような歴史研究からは現代社会への洞察も得られます。」
“By studying the Meiji era’s social welfare systems and social mechanism of farming villages based on surviving documents and such, I brought to light the cold treatment given to the poor, the actual state of assistance, and the difficulties of life faced by people back then. Insights for modern society can also be gained through such study of history.”
