A Bridge for Cultural Exchange Between Japan and France

「20世紀フランスの劇詩人ポール・クローデルが日本文化、特に能に影響を受け、創作に活かした過程を研究。能の本質を鋭く見抜いた彼の視点、作品は日仏文化交流の懸け橋となりました。さらなる文化交流に貢献すべく努力しています。」
“I study the process in which Paul Claudel, a poet and playwright in 20th century France, was influenced by Japanese culture—and Noh in particular—and applied such influence in his works. His works and perspectives, which accurately discerned the essence of Noh, served as a bridge for cultural exchange between Japan and France. I work at my research in hope of contributing toward further cultural exchange.”
