「計画経済から市場経済への体制移行を成長と共に達成した中国。私はこの移行の論理を産業発展と関連づけ、現地調査を通じて研究してきました。特に中国経済の構造に大きな影響を及ぼした自転車産業は興味深く、日本とのつながりも改めて見えてきました。」
“China achieved growth together with its transition from a planned economy to a market economy. I linked the theory of this transition to the development of industries and undertook my research through fieldwork. In particular, I was very interested in the bicycle industry, which had significant impact on the structure of China’s economy, and it also led me to relook how things are tied to Japan.”
